Published Tue 03 Jun 2025

Softball SA is thrilled to congratulate Sheryn Gillin & Jill Williams on their appointments to State Official roles.

Sheryn Gillin has been appointed as South Australian Director of Umpiring.

Sheryn brings years of softball passion and experience to the role. She has been involved as Secretary of the SSA Umpiring Committee, Tournament Chief, and Deputy Chief Umpire at the recent state championships, as well as serving as the current Rostering Officer for the Adelaide Softball Association and Deputy Umpire-In-Chief.

A lifelong player, umpire, board member and tireless volunteer, Sheryn’s blend of administrative expertise and on-diamond know-how makes her the perfect leader to support and inspire our umpiring community.

Jill Williams has been appointed as South Australian Scoring Coordinator.

Jill brings decades of experience as an official scorer and statistician at national tournaments across the country, including recent roles at National Championships. After regaining her Level 4 accreditation in 2019, she’s been a key contributor to our scoring community.

Known for her collaborative approach, Jill is committed to building a strong scoring network across SA — starting with forming a committee and connecting with affiliates to grow support and share knowledge.

Both Officials have been appointed for a term of 2 years. Please join us in congratulating Sheryn and Jill.
