Softball SA is proud to support the third annual PRIDE Round in the Premier League. 

The third annual PRIDE Round is an initiative of the West Torrens Softball Club that celebrates the LGBTQIA+ community, on Saturday 11 February at Barratt Reserve. 

To actively promote inclusion and acceptance, PRIDE Round at West Torrens Softball Club supports Minus18, an initiative aimed at changing the lives of LGBTQIA+ youth in Australia through themes of Celebrate, Educate, Advocate: https://www.givenow.com.au/cr/accpride2023

Aside from creating spaces where young LGBTQIA+ people feel comfortable and are celebrated, Minus18 deliver LGBTQIA+ training and resources, and equip young people with the skills and opportunities needed to drive change. 

In 2022, Over $1600 was raised by the softball community, well in excess of their $500 goal. As part of the 2023 fundraiser, you can purchase a PRIDE can cooler online, or from Bar66 in the club rooms on Saturday, and you can donate directly to the campaign here.

Supporting PRIDE Round in 2023 is Tessa Doumanis – AFLW player with Port Adelaide. Tessa will be the special guest of West Torrens Softball Club and will throw the first pitch, before joining the commentary team as part of Spacequake Sports’ livestream of the 4PM PRIDE Round fixture.  

West Torrens Softball Club have expressed the graciousness at the support they have received from the softball community. Softball SA is thrilled to hear that the Eagles have received regular contact from clubs all over the state who have shown their support.
