In accordance with Clause 16.4(a) of the Softball SA Constitution, there are four (4) vacancies for the purposes of the annual election, created by the following who will retire by rotation (Don Cameron, Nicole Peterson and two vacancies) at the conclusion of the 2021 Annual General Meeting, which will be held on Sunday 12th September 2021.

October Long Weekend Tournament is back for 2021!

Softball SA welcomes you to submit your team nominations for the 25th October Long Weekend Labour Day Tournament. Games will commence at Softball SA’s Diamond Sports, West Beach on Saturday October 2nd, and conclude on Monday October 4th.

Softball, NAIDOC and Home

Last year, Softball SA Premier League’s NAIDOC Round saw Sturt take on Port Adelaide in a celebration of First Nations culture, inviting special guest Kamilaroi woman and Indigenous Australian Softballer, now Olympian, Tarni Stepto as a commentator, that was thanks to NITV. In the coming season, an Indigenous Round will take the place of the NAIDOC Round, with NAIDOC week returning to July, with Port Adelaide set to again be involved in the event.

Riverland Masters Recap

While some spent their long weekend taking a much-needed break at home, Riverlands softballers took the opportunity to get out and about, playing a three-day Riverland Masters Softball Tournament in Berri. Hosted by the Riverlands Softball Association, ten women’s and three men’s teams competed in what became a tight contest all weekend long.

Vale James ‘Jim’ Robert Manning (1951-2021)

Jim Manning was a gentle giant of a man. Jim’s volunteering for various organisations was second to none – which is where his ‘giant’ contribution will reverberate through the upcoming years. His personality drew everyone to him – his kindness and thoughtfulness was endless. Although he had no history in diamond sports as a youngster, his dedication to baseball and softball was unquestionable selfless and inspiring.

SA’s National Softball Stars Talk Preparation and Sacrifice Ahead of Final Camp In Japan

Ahead of the Travelodge Aussie Spirits’ arrival today in Japan, South Australians Belinda White and Chelsea Robinson detailed their long but rewarding preparation for their final training camp abroad, and their excitement for the 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games. Along with White (32) and Robinson (25), fellow state representative Georgia Hood made the trip but was unavailable at the time of interview. Hood is the youngest member of the Aussie team at 20-years of age.
